Default wanting disk brakes

i have a 1997 chevy silverado and i want to put a rearend out of a 2004 will it fit

Think the newer rear ends are a little wider but I could be wrong. Im sure someone who knows for sure will chime in. Also is your truck a 5 lug or 6 lug?

it is 6 lug its a 4x4

Its wider by 1 inch overall. The leaf spring mounting points are different as well.
