Default Wasted $$$$$??????

I purchased an LS6 clutch and pressure plate for what I thought was a reasonable price. I have a flywheel from an LS1, they should be the same correct? The clutch and flywheel don't seem to mate up like the LS1 setup. Can someone please give me some info?

i believe the ls6 flywheel is a bit lighter and the pp has more holding force. pretty sure they are differant. i went with an ls7 clutch which uses an ls2 flywheel

Most flywheels have a common pattern on them to bolt a clutch to and are fairly interchangeable. On the GM vehicles you pretty much have a large and small diameter flywheel, 153 tooth small, 168 tooth, large that is how many teeth for the starter.

The flywheel will also be Metric or Sae, some are both. If the holes to hold pressure plate on are metric thread, it is a metric if they are standard thread you have a standard. The two patterns might be the same, but you would have to move dowel pins to make it line up.

On my truck I have a large diameter flywheel with metric threads, when I bought my clutch I told that to the tech guy and he told me the correct one to buy.

What doesn't mate up correctly??
