Most of the extra weight is coming from the massive 80e converter and the extra fluid it takes. Just the converter alone is about 25-30lbs more. But honestly the 4l80e physically isn't that big in person, I was expecting something gargantuan lol. Dry weight on the 80e is like 170lbs or something like that w/o converter

thats what i was referring to. Just the actual transmissions themselves. Not with the heavier convertor to because that does not make the numbers right. Also my 4l80 circle d convertor and tranny took less fluid than my 60 and stock converto

that converter you have is the same one I got....but I was thinking about going with the 3500 stall speed. What do you think? Looking back now do you wish you went higher than 32-3400?

damn! That is really impressive for a EC. If the 3200-3400 brake stalls to 35-3600 then maybe I should stay with that. But then again it could be because of your power levels

Dumb ?? here but why would you consider a 80e in such a light truck.. Hell your as light as a F bod in that little truck. I would put a built 60e in there and not look back...

+1, especially if you're going to stay NA with the LQ4. If you're going boosted then I'd do the 80E

That was the point I was trying to get at.

Im going to an 80e just because that is what was available to me. So im most likely going to pick up 140 lbs from 5 speed to 80e. I know its going to be overkill and im most likely going to be all pissed off because of the slower accel im going to feel, especially with the 4.8.
