I think you mainly need to work on getting out of the hole. Your 60' is worse, and everything else is better. If you look at your times starting from the 60', you knocked off .13 in the 1/8 mile, and carried that throughout the run.

Your thinking is backwards on the timing deal. Deeper gears means less load on motor and rpms climbing quicker. So if you do need to change your IGNITION TIMING, you would want to try advancing it a little more. Also advanced=lowend and retarded=top end only applys for CAM TIMING. completely seperate from ignition timing.

That makes sence. But on all my SBC cars that I have dragraced if I pulled ignition timing out I always got more MPH. If I put timing in I got better 60ft times but a slower mph. Like on the 73 El Camino I dragrace if the track isn't hooking I pull timing out so i don't spin out of the hole. If its hooking I put timing in so it will 60ft. better.

You need a retune as well... Depending on your tune, changing gearing will move your shift points. Get with nelson to get it fixed.

It still shifts at the same RPM it did before. ( I think ) It revs past the tach.

Here it went a 13.67 @ 98 mph with a 2.12 60ft. But it only did this once. It stayed in the 13.80s all day after this run. You can see the truck unload the front suspention then wheel hop stars and it noses over.

Doesn't nelson lock the PCM so that no one can tune it afterwards?

Yes they do. My stock PCM is still in El Paso. We were using HP tuners on it, I chaed it out to the Nelson one before I came down here, I was planning to stop at Nelson on the way up here.

Well yes and no. Yes 4.56s becouse of the grunt but as it turns out with the 4.10s I am turning 2600 RPM in OD going 70 mph. I really don't wanna be buzzing more than that on my road trips.
