Question went from 4wd to 2wd now have "SERVICE 4wd" light...

i bought a wrecked 2005 2500hd 4wd gas burner and put the cab and the 6.0L on a 2003 1500 2wd frame.. i used the wiring/computer from the 2003 2wd for the motor and trans (2003 4l60e 2wd) abut i kept all the wiring from the 2005 hd cab in the truck...
only issue i am having now is it is saying SERVICE 4WD on the cluster now...

what do i need to do to have that removed/cleared so it does not come back on?

You can just delete the code with tuning software. Simple, won't ever come up again.

Are the 4wd codes stored in the BCM? Might be worth it to swap the 1500 BCM over if it will plug in...

unplug the transfer case control module under the dash. Should have 2 or 3 plugs on it.

Since black04 referred to a "transfer case module", I'm going to assume that that is where the 4x4 codes are stored...now you just need to find out where that is located and "pull the plug" on it...pun intended
