Randy's Ring & Pinion swears by Yukons. They claim they are as strong as OEM and every bit as quiet. Yukon IMO if you can't go w/ AAM(GM) gears.....o and a Eaton LSD all the way

Your going to end up with 3 answers for the LSD. I asked the same question, and got Auburn, Detroit and Eaton for feedback. Use the search button to find out more specific info on each. I was going to go with the Detroit Truetrac even though a higher percentage of people recommended Auburn to me. I cant vouch for any because I wasted the mod money for that on my wifes minivan . And now I decided my priority was a 4L80 swap before I get boosted.

The place I had mine done will not gaurantee anything other than Strange/US Gear and Auburn Pro. I took his advice on the gears. But, I just keep the G80 because of my driving habits. He does all the gear swaps for one of the local chevy dealerships.
My 4.10s have a little wine to them, but I think its just mainly the number of teeth casuing it. It doesnt bother me one bit.
As far as covers, I was researching the same thing. I found the Moser cover on Summits site a good price. If you do not mind their logos, Summit and Jegs are a little cheaper and are the same the others. It was a toss really. A company LPW has a strong product. They actually make the one for Jegs, Summit (I believe), and from what I remember Strange also. Just look around and compare designs and you will see. The design I was looking for was that it needed bearing preload screws and have an oil fill above midline of cover.

My brother has Yukon 4.56s in his Ram and they are too noisy for my taste, but you don't have the option of AAMs. As for the LSD, I think the Eaton or Detriot Tru-Trac are the most popular. Personally I'll be running AAMs and a Detriot Tru-Trac when I switch to 4.10s.
