hope this ain't a highjack,but it's on topic.

looking at a lifted 2500hd to by but the owner states it has a 6.0 with an Allison..I've searched everywhere and can't find tis combo, factory.

I've had many 4l60's in my rcsb, with the power, towing etc some didn't fair so well,4l80's are strong yes?..wanted to put one in the rcsb but the cost was to much but is the 4l80e strong enough for lifted, larger tired 2500's?

thanks and aprdon the interution
Tim

Tim the 6.0 never came with the Allison. You can get it with an 8.1L gas job or the duramax. If your going to go gas look for a 6l80e. Stay away from the 8.1L unless you want to keep the executives at Mobile happy.

AND now back to regularly scheduled programing

4l80 is pretty stout i tow and plow w my 2500 .Havent had a single problem yet.Third year ive owned it and just got over 100k. I had a lifted yukon w the 4l60 spend alot of money on transmisions tha were supposed to hold over 500hp. Still blew em apart. A trans temp gauge is also a good way to keep trans alive.
