Default what brand of gears

I have my truck at the shop getting my gears put in and the installed just called me and tried to sell me different gears. Said Yukons were cheap and aren't worth using. What are you all using?

Do they sell yukons?? If not that is why they are telling you they are junk. I have Yuk's in and have a good bit of abused miles on them..

I have heard of more motive, AAM, richmond's shiting out then the yukons. My yuks set perfect and are quiet as can be. As far as price goes last i remember yukons were more then motive..

well, the shop quoted me 225+20 for shipping and I would have to wait another day. I paid 400 for the front, rear, and install kits. So the Motives are alittle more.

when i was building my 14b i was going to go yukons but they were too much cash so i went with motive from a local shop and they were trash talking yukons but i think yukons are a great ring and pinon . my local shop was also trash talking about richmond and genuine gear . and i have richmond in my 12 bolt in my olds and in my old 10 bolt and there quiet and i beat on them for years and my olds has 625 foot pounds my buddies blazer had cheap genuine gear and they held up fine with 36s but those were a pain to get the pattern right. i think its all in the set up and proper breakin

I have used richmond and motive... no complaints here... i did rip all the teeth off the pinion of the richmond set.. haha.. stupid trans broke output shaft and locked up on 1-2 shift.... but all that aside... lots of people use yukons without issues.... i wouldnt be worried they are just trying to sell you a product
