Default What brand name gears do you all use

So im thinking about gears, It seem there is a HUGE price difference in the brands... Just wondering what the "going" brand is on here.. I went to US standards web page and it says " not recomended for a quite vehicle" im guessing it has gear wine, however they are a LOT cheaper, but i have suburban and the noise will just bounce around inside....

So I gues i should ask what gears are you all running that are quite.

I believe that AAM is what the factory uses, and they are obviously quiet. From what I've learned, the noise comes from the way the gears are cut, and the noiser ones have more meat as they don't have an angle cut off the teeth, but there are strong, quiet gears available such as Yukon as Roger mentioned. I'm thinking that I may go with either AAM or Yukons when I go to 4.10's...

Thanks for the info..

Im looking to go from 3:73 to 4:56 or 4:88's the research ive done shows only a 250 rpm difference at 80 mph with between the 4:56 and 4:88's with the 35 inch tires.. But i have the 8.1L and it will be turboed... So with 4:56's it puts it like 2550 at 80 and 2700 ish with 488's but the guys on here with the 6.0L truck and 76mm turbo say its on kill 2800... so with another 96 ci it might be to much... I know that your not on boost all the time, at least from my other turbo cars.. That would be nice to have NO lag on the highway though

Is that Yukon grizzley? locker still the about the best to go with in a 14 bolt rear end. Now i have stock gov locker and it seem to lock when you dont need it to and not lock when you do need it to lol... its confused.. I dont want to spend the money on air lockers..

I have the usa standard gears from rons, they were cheap, install was good and they make a slight, slight noise on decel at around 25mph. thats it, i did only like 50 miles of break in and thats all. changed gear oil with non synthetic again at 500 miles. they are still going good and have about 10k on them now. just thought i would share.

Motives here. Ive lost count on how many Ive put in and never had a whine from them. Rons gears on the other hand do whine.

My rons gears didn't whine. I have a pretty badass installer though

My motives are quiet too
