I run Richmond gears, self-installed, no whine at all. A lot of it has to do with how you install them.

I have had luck with Yukon, AAM, Motive, Genuine, and Richmond. A lot of it depends on how well the gears were installed. I set them up on the tighter side of the tolerances.

I used a set of those Summit gears in my old Camaro with great results as well. It was a gamble so I went about it as cheap as possible, and it was fine...

That being said, I prefer AAM (which makes the OEM GM gears), or Motive for GM vehicles. Both always seem to setup easily for me and are always dead quiet, as they should be. Never heard a bad thing about Yukons, but never used/installed them personally.
