I have seen a 4l60e equiped vette run like 9.5's and then drive home. Vette Doctors did the build I think. the trans is a Rock On???? I think. So I can be done it jsut cost major $$$$$$$$$$$

I talked with FLT awhile back and I thought I remembered him telling me that 500rwhp was about the limit in a truck. You might be able to go a little bit higher in a light car like the Vette.

damn-
or what about a th400? do you guys like those- this will not be a DD bye the time i have enough hp to fubar the 60e. what is a good gear for the th400 (final gear) like a 2.73?
what about a t56???? LOL manual 500+ whp turbo v6 blazer FTW-
how bad is a manual swap into a truck guys?

with you having a V6 im sure a 60 will hold up for you since youre numbers arent as bad as if you would have a v8 and also the weight of your ride isnt as much as the trucks. then you have to consider your TQ is what actually kills the trans

I think a 60E could survive behind your truck since it's so light. 500rwhp is the quoted limit, but that's for a truck that tips in around 5000-5500lbs. Guys over on tech are running more than 500rwhp with 60E's, but they're a lot lighter than trucks. I'm assuming yours is around 3900-4200lbs right? It can be done, but it will cost a lot of money when compared to building a TH400 though.
If it were me, a TH400 with a tight stall, 2.73's and be done with it. You can still drive it on the street/highway and kick *** at the track. You could swap to a TH400, with a RMVB and a transbrake, and do the gears for the price of a built 60E, but the TH400 setup w/brake will be faster and more dependable.
As for a T56, you're on your own. But I'm willing to bet an LT1 T56 would do the trick.

i want something that is streetable like if my other car breaks i can DD it- the daily hp will only be around 300 to 320whp then just when i need it- it will go up to a 500+whp-
what about a th400 t-brake- tight stall- and maybe a even a longer gear like a 2.55- i would like to get on the interstate as i will need to to get to the 1/4 mile track- its about 80miles away from me
plus i do alot of roll racing. that 2.55 gear will prolly help- anyone know my topspeed with a 2.55 and a th400?
if i went with a huge turbo- would the th400 with a t-brake really help it spool @ the staging lanes?
