the aftermarket usually refers to the G80 as the gov-lock... either way, they are pretty inferior.

Check and see how many bolts are on your rear diff cover. I have a 10 bolt 8.5 or 8.6.

Cool

I think that you have a GM (AAM 1050??) 10.5" 14 bolt full floating rear differential.

The only one I could find at Summit is the Eaton Posi Performance ETN-19689-010 for the GM Truck, 1973-2003, 14-bolt 10.5" ring gear, 30 spline, 4.11 - down ratio carrier.......$$$ expensive!!!

Eaton lists the 19689-010 and the 19610-010 GM Truck: 1973 ~ Present,
14 bolt, 10.5", 30 T, 4.56 and Up as well.

The one thunder550 posted is for the 9.5" 14 bolt semi-floating rear found in the 1500HD and 2500LD trucks. It may be possible that you have the 9.5" but if your truck is a 2500HD then I doubt it. I am not exactly sure when GM went to the newer 2500HD series.

It does not look like there is a Detroit Truetrac listed for any 14 bolt 10.5" rear ends.

That's what I was afraid of. Maybe I can somehow increase the clutch pack's spring pressure to increase the slip resistance, or weld the spider gears together.

I also agree with that, if you seen the hard time we put on our Mustang GT's in our drifting cars with truetracs you would be amazed they didn't break. We have never had a single unit go bad, ever and some units have been in rears for 7 years and seen much abuse.
