Default What kind of fluid for transfer case?

What does the General call for as far as oil goes in my transfer case? What weight? Or is it just ATF of some sort? This is for an '05 Yukon XL.

Is it an Autotrac? If so, I think they only recommend there autotrac oil, about $10 a quart! It's a special synthetic blue colored oil designed to work with the viscous coupler in the t-case.

Yep, expensive as hell, and a dealer-only item.

I've never heard of the Autotrack term, so I don't know what you're speaking of. How do I know what I have, or would it be easier if I just looked underneath it and found a model # sticker on it?
