What is needed in stock 4L60e for Torque Convertor?
I am planning a budget on my truck. I am thinking of a 212/218 or tr220 cam and a mild stall. Probably like a 2400-3000 stall. I have been reading around and most people add servos, a shift kit, and a transmission cooler. Is this needed? If so, would I have to freshen up the tranmission while I'm in it? How much would this cost? The truck has 155k miles, so probably the transmission has been rebuilt or replaced before, but idk.

Nothing else is needed on a converter install other than the cooler. The higher stall will generate more heat. The servos and shift kit are used to improve the shift feel and the durability of the trans. You might want to budget for a tune, sometimes a higher stall converter will cause a no lock up issue and might change the shift points. But on a converter under 3000, I think you are safe.

Yeah, I already have a Blackbear tune set with firm shifts. It shifts fine, and the only thing is the 1-2 is harder, which I hear is normal, but once it warms up it shifts like it is suppose to. I just hate to put a torque converter in it and a couple thousand miles down the road it messes up. I'm a high school kid on a budget and my dad would get mad if he had to put a transmisison in it.
