drop the pan take out the valve body and follow the instructions... you should be fine...just take your time and I dont know if its been said but have a little vaseline handy to keep the check ***** in place when you are messing with the valve body... I havent done a 60e yet but this is just a good rule of thumb for any auto tranny.

i wouldnt advise a shift kit i havent read all of the post for yours but i wouldnt go with a shift kit. i had 3:73's and with my kinda drivin and a shift kit i flattened out those gears. weird i kno. then after a while my transmission went, valve body and 3rd and 4th gear burned up. the electronic transmissions are programmable, and you dont need a shift to make a 4l60e shift the way you want it to. this is wat i did on mine and it worked better than a shift kit if you ask me. i took the cap off to my soleniod there are two wire a C and a D wire. take one of the wires, whichever one is easiest to get to splice another wire to it thats long enough to go thru your floor and hook it to a toggle switch and mount where ever you want. flip it up and the transmission shifts firm, flip it down and the transmission goes bak to stock, accept for me i messed with mine a little bit. i torqued down my soleniod and then did the switch. i got it to where my truck will cherp goin into 3rd not a lot but for an ecsb thats pretty damn good if you ask me. i have the print outs somewhere of the solenoid if you want them i can email em to you.

I already have a tune that firmed up the shifts, i just want them to be more consistent and the last thing i want to do is cut and splice wires that control my transmission. Just doesn't sound like a smart idea. I'll stick with Transgo.
