Default What Stall with Vinci and future Maggie

Hey Guys,

I'm about to install a Vinci Trucker Cam with new 205cc TFS heads. What stall should I be looking at, keeping in mind I'd like to get the most out of the cam, without losing out on power that would come from a future Maggie install? This will be 100% DD.

I'm hoping to do a FLT LVL6 and TC soon and never touch the tranny again.

Thanks Guys,

Lance

I ran that cam on my old motor. Seemed to like the 3000 stall. The 3000 will work well with the maggie also.

That's similar to my setup, with you having better heads. Yank SC3000 is working great in my DD.

Also, just as a sidenote, this is my second converter in my truck. The first was a locally built 2500 stall. The Yank made a WORLD of difference, and was the only mod made at the time of install.

So 3k isn't to high for a DD or the Maggie? I was orignally thinking 26-2800.

Alot of guys are running bigger then a 3k verter. I am DD a yank 3200.. Aslong as it is a tight verter you will not even no it is there.. Only time its too much stall is when you think it is..

I run a yank 3200 with a whipple and trucker cam in my 5.3. I like it. You get used to loose converters really quick. I think a 3000-3200 would be fine. The cam makes more mid-high range power than down low.

With that heavy avalanche, you may want to consider something a little tighter. Maybe a 26-2800. Weight makes a huge difference on how it drives everyday. I have a 2800 with a 1.69 STR billet converter in my crew cab, and honestly I wish it was a little tighter. If i could redo it, I would get a 25-2600 with my maggie, makes awesome torque down low.

My truck weighs in at 5700 with 1/2 tank of fuel, so I think it is comparable.

if you are gonna get a 3000 make sure it is tight or you are gonna flash over the sweet spot im the maggie which is about 2800 -3000
