I have that same case and dammit i cant remember off the top of my head, but there is a tag on the back of the case that will tell you, I think maybe its a 261 ??? . Its one of those numbers i know but can never remember.
I bought that same adaptor your needing though ( tranfer case input shaft), it wasnt hard at all to install, just have to tear apart the t case but its not bad.
Good choice on going with an 80E.

also the gearing on the 60e is much better

the transfer cases that have the auto 4wd, 4hi, 4low, and 2 hi are the np246's
the manually shifted transfercases are the np261's
electronically shifted transfercases without auto 4wd is the np263
