Thanks man,
I am looking at these

17 x 9 with 4.5 backspacing would put them each 2 inches further out than stock. And I can run my stock tires.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I wouldn't worry about the extra weight of the 20's. It'll make up for it in the looks department. IMO you shouldn't worry about the 15 extra pounds 20's will add, it won't make much of a difference

I use my truck, like a truck, especially on the weekends.

I don't want to have tires that are too small to take in the mud and snow.

I would like to get some 20s with 33" tall tires someday, AFTER I get some 4.10s.
I need to watch my tire height with these 3.42s

I will definately get some forged ones. I think of it as a performance upgrade, not just for looks.

I'm still really undecided.

I could make some quality spacers, and run the stockers for a while.

It's not that hard to make sure they don't come loose.
I could even put some set screws in from the side to keep the nuts from loosening. I don't really see them coming loose as a big problem, if they are torqued correctly and checked after break in.

you could take your fender flaers off and your wheels will look wider

^^Good point...when I took off my factory flares last spring, it made the 17x7.5 caddy wheels appear wider because they weren't "sucked" in the wells. Might be a good idea, seeing as though you live in the Salt Belt like I do...you wouldn't believe the amount of crap under those flares. My body guy said he sees alot of '99+ trucks start to bubble under the factory flares where the bedsides are tacked on, and you wouldn't see it unless you removed them.
