A stock rebuild with factory borg warner hi energy clutches and a transGo shift kit is all the 80 needs, some years vary though with a different count on the sprag. No biggie.
The converter is about 1-200 $ more though.

Alot of fellas still biteing the dust. I have a 80e with level 5 billet 3700 rpm stall converter 9.5", current gears are 3.73 on 285/50/20=31.2" tires all behind a street tuner vortec max 6.0 and IMO it rips ***! Love the dependability and still runing like day 1.

You can run a 80e on a 60e code, you have to clear some error codes 3 of them, and wire up 1-2 relays depending on the configuration you would like to have. I needed 1 relays , my converter stay locked unless I let it. Plus I wired mine to extend the life of my tq converter.

Yea it sounds like the output. I've seen them do that and helped my friend load a truck backwards on a trailer because of it. lol

I love the 80. Off idle it sucks if your racing. But i havent raced in a year or three. But towing its awesome. A harsh shift is the 60e killer. But too soft and u wear clutches. So what do you do?
