Who bulds the best 4L80E?

I recommend Jake's
Rossler and Gilbert are both good builders but as someone said, I doubt anybody else in the performance industry is building as many 4L80E's as we do.
We build 8 4L80E's a week average, and almost all of these are going to 800+ HP combos.
I will also mention, that if you have a good local builder who is familiar with performance builds, that can be a good choice as well.

This may not be the right place to ask, but whats your opinion on running a hydraulic fluid (like hy-gard) instead of trans fluid for more race oriented applications? I know it usually handles heat better and tightens up a converter, but I mean in terms of clutch wear compared to normal dex3.

Here's a set of clutches out of a Th400 used in a bottom 8 second car using Hy-Gard that had 2 years of run time on the street and strip with hundreds of passes. We freshened the trans, made some changes to the valve body, lightened up some parts, and it's now running 7's.
Here's the car.

Use the stock 4L80E filter, the 400 filter won't work and you have to use a brass screen 400 (Allison) filter.
Use the low viscosity version of Hy-gard unless you are trying to tighten the converter.

Yes,
but it doesn't have to be John Deere brand. Mobil 424, Case, Caterpillar, and generic fluids seem to work fine.
Universal tractor/transmission hydraulic oil.
It seems to hold up better than synthetic and cost less.

So for the 80e I do need a brass filter or will the stock filter suffice with either version of hy-gard? Just trying to clarify. I have heard hy-gard will collapse the stock filter and just want to be sure thats not true. I will probably mix 50/50 hygard and dex3. Thanks for your input
