Default Who has lowered an 06 Silverado

Im looking to lower my 06 Crew Cab truck, i have been told i have to buy new leaf springs because the hangers are welded onto the truck.

Anyone have any experence in lowering a 06 Crew Cab.

And i know the fronts dont need spindals just springs

Any help from you guys would help!!
Thanks Lance

I also have an 06 crewcab and im looking to lower it very soon so im glad you asked this question!

I think im going to go with a 2/4 because with a 4/6, i will have to have rubber band tires to tuck with the 22's and i will have no notch the frame. Not only that, it will be so low that i will drag on every speed bump and i wont be able to haul much without bottoming out. 2/4 seems like the better way to go for me since it is a daily driver and id still like to use it occasionally as a truck. I just dont know which parts or components i will need to use to get the drop im looking for. I want to run spindles in the front for sure because if i bag it later, it will save me some money in the long run.

Anyone with info on this topic will benefit both of us!

I think im going with 3/4 drop on my 06 and planing on going to a 20" wheel on all 4 corners, hopefully i will have not have any problems. And yes i agree 4/6 is too low for my use of my truck even tho i dont haul anything but a few kids. I did have a 90 GMC stepside with a 4/6 kit and 17" wheels and pulled my T/A to the track hand full of times and pulled fine but did rub some on the front air dam but no complaints with the 4/6 kit.

I just need info on the rear of the truck i havent even looked under the truck yet so do i need Leafs or hangers?

i have a 05 and i put a hanger shackle kit in. The hanger kit is difficult to put in but saves ur towing abilities. It is a 2/4 drop on 22's!! here are pics!

I have been doing alot of research on lowering kits for a 06 Crew Cab and to tell you not much out there. The 06 Crew Cab has weld-on hangers to the frame and shackles in the rear so there is no simple kit for the rear for these trucks. So i finally found a solution to get a 3/4 drop i talked to a Tech Rep from Stylin Concepts and he told me i need to use a 4" flip kit from Bell Tech and the front i can do either 3" springs or spindals, springs are 150 bucks and rear flip kit 299.00 no one has really said using leafs just do a flip kit...

What do you guys think?
