Who HAS NOT blown the 4L60
Who here has not blown out their 4l60-e after a major mod? -cam -stall -pa -heads -exc.
What seems to be the ultimate 60e tranny killer? I've heard of some loosing it on stock motor and trans but, for the majority... what seems to be its match?
Thanks.

Mine is still good to go. ~75,000miles on it, ~35k with the stall the last 15k miles, I've had the 6.0, small cam, and a bit of headwork. She dyno'd 308rwhp and 310 rwtq. Only 20 hp and tq increase over the 5.3.
Tranny mods are a Trans-Go shift kit and TT3000. Running on 305/70-16's too.

It seems like a good majority have blown their tranny but possibly, this is because the ones that are still alive are not reported on.
So, if you guys with "alive" 4l60s could keep posting...
That's good news OLDBULL & OBX!

I dont think there is any way around not blowing a stock 4l60 in these trucks. I had about 16,000 miles on my stock one when I hit it with a hundred shot of nitrous, and that was the end of the clutches. When we tore it apart, the sun gear shell was fixing to go, along with my fried band and clutches. I even had a shift kit in there then with all of the billet servos. I think a good built one will last, as I have about 32,000 miles on the rebuilt one. It has taken a bunch of abuse, so I think it is holding up well in my truck. With anything that puts a direct torque shock on these things, plan on a new one.
