Who here has the McGaughy's C-notch?
I'm going to install my notches tomorrow and I'm kind of worried about aligning them properly. Since they don't come with a cutting template, how should I trace where to cut the notch?
I found a pic on truckin's website where they took the opposite side notch and hung it from the top of the frame rail to trace the notch out. Is this the correct way to go about it? 2004 GMC Sierra Buildup C Notch Marked Photo 33

I just did mine on New Year's day. You know about jacking it up forward of the rear wheels and then slowly lowering the rear of the truck onto jack stands to ensure that the frame doesnt bend when you cut right? Im sur eyou do, just making sure you dont have a bad day lol. Once i had the axle ontop the leaf springs i put the tires on, lowered it off the jack stands, crawled under the truck and used a square block (1"x1") that i put up against the bumpstop bracket on the axle and the frame and marked the frame with a screw driver. Then i centered the notches on on the two lines i marked on the underside of the frame. Measure twice, cut once! Also had a hard time getting the drivers side front-underside and drivers side front-outside bolts in, hopefully you have an easier time.
I attached a pic of mine, its currently getting aligned. Do you have a rcsb and did you mcgaughy coil springs and spindles up front? Mine seems to be a little lower in the rear than the front. I hope the front coils settle so the truck is a little more level...

Thanks for the replies guys. I was going to put jack stands in front of the rear tire and then support the rear with a hand jack while I was cutting. The picture of the truckin install looks like it would put the notch cut really high on the frame. That's why I wasn't sure about it.
