Who's putting decent power through a 4l60
#11
I am at 4200lbs, 700ish whp . Many years of building these with the help of PBA. :-)
Many years of trial and error and setting them up correctly. I have some torque management in that helps. Haven't broken anything doing boosted 4wd launches, rolling 4wd spinning. I can't fit an 80 in my vehicle easily so the 4l60e wasn't my first logical choice. I kinda just had to work with it. Luckily I have been building them for quite a few years.
The heavier over 4800 lb
Vehicles over. 500hp really stress the 4l60, I don't care how well it's built.

For anyone who may need a 65e, i have one built by vince B. For the newer members, vince was a former builder for FLT before he moved on to what he is doing now. It started out as a lvl 7 flt. Vince rebuilt it with additional billet pieces for extra 3-4 frictions along with a deep pan and a trans brake. I might have put 2k miles on it in a S10. I could be talked out of it...

I had a 4l60e in my 08 in my sig... it did an awesome job. Only reason it let go was because I was young a dumb and didn't set the back spacing on the yank right. Once it went though, I put a LVL5 transbuilder guy transmission in it (look him up) and drive it for about 4 months. I was in the middle of building a 370 built for spray, but I got bored with it and bought my '15, 2 days before the 370 was done...
