Mine makes close to 500hp @ the crank.

When the new engine was put in, I adjusted the FMC table a little more and I have about 4k on the new engine. Zero issues. I also have the vette servo and trucool 40k on it.

i agree George. The tune is just as important as the hard parts. I had a stock unit go low 13s and made 400 wheel.

So what is critical in the tune to allow these things to last, gimme specifics, I'd love to adjust my tune.

one thing i know of...people like to crank the line pressure so high on the shift that it blows the tires and rattles the dash. a quick firm shift is all you need. anything more is doing damage IMO.

i've been in truck where that feel like you've been rear ended just shifting 1-2 at part throttle normal driving. completely unnecessary.

there's nothing special about tuning a 4L

stock the trans is going to break down eventually under any kind of power. I burned up the clutches in a stock 4l80 behind the n/a 6.0.

Mechanical mods are needed.

Shift kit, sonnax pinless accumulators, vette servo, torlon check *****, tru cool 40k

Tune is key, you see it over and over again...ppl claim this tune or that tune and next ya know the trans fails then you see ppl holding power and go wow guess a tune does make a difference
