I know of several SSS's running TBTC's, some of them supercharged. They usually stall around 2600......

I have a tbtc in my 04 awd sss. My mods are CAI, Magnaflow muffler, my trans has shift kit, servos with the tbtc. the thrans work was done by a local shop here in SoCal "The Toy Shop." I likehowit runs, not too much and not too little just right. It stalls at around 2600.

I know alot of people use them and I'm sure it would work, but I just don't like the fact that the only reason it stalls higher is because it is not designed for the extra horsepower of the v8s.

The only way I'd run one is if it was one like Circle-D sells, that has upgraded clutch material and stuff.

But if I was going to go through that much trouble I'd just get a real converter

i run one im my SSS. ive got cai, 224 cam, headers, exhaust, and a tune. the stall works great. i can foot brake it up to about 26-2800 before the brakes wont hold it anymore. itll flash stall to about 23-2500. i got mine from Camargo trans on ebay, their auctions are obo. i offered up 100 and they accepted, cant beat the price. oh when the tranny shifts your rpms wont drop nearly as much keeping you "in the power band".
