why do i need to raise mph lockup

"feel" and actual numbers are 2 different things though

it actually feels like it pulls alot harder after locking. not just a slight feeling.

Thats becuse when it locks it drops RPMs which drops HP/TQ then as RPMs increases as do the HP/TQ and thats why it feels like it pull harder after locking.. To me any drop in RPM at WOT is a loss in thr 1/4.

Hmmm, wonder if the stock 4l80 TC could handle locking up at WOT with my setup. I hear it'll help your mph, I may try it next time at the track and see what gives the better ET. You guys locking in 3rd only?

That's usually on really loose converters though....

Guess it depends on setup.. a TQ curve flat as a tabletop may benefit on the big end from luckup.

good to see you went with a performabuilt lev2 thats the same one i got and i love it so far what did you get for a converter? btw i have my tcc set to lock at 45mph

im shifting close to 7,000rpm, trapping 118mph and my rpm is never below 5,500. i could use a little drop maybe haha. also, after locking your at a 1:1 ratio so even if you in a lower part of your power band, your putting 100% of that power to the wheels instead of the converter eating some of that power.

i didnt had tho money to buy a yank like i planned so im loosing my stock converter, the transmission shop near me can do it i dont know how... its not the same quality i think but i will can foot stall it 3000, b4 was 2500

I wouldn't lock a factory verter at WOT on an "unnaturally aspirated" LQ9
