Wierd chattering noise????
I got a 2000 silverado ext. cab 4x4, and everything is in super condition. Except that when I turn left and go over small bumps(like a rough road) it makes almost like a metal on metal chatter. Like....click click click??? On a really smooth road it doesn't make a sound. I can also feel that same chattering in my steering wheel...I'm guessing it might be my cv joint in the IFS system.???? Any ideas

I have that problem in my '05. I know others who have had the same issue.
The probelm is in the steering between the wheel and box. If you grab the steering shaft and shake it, it has movement and you can hear/feel the slack.
If under warranty, dealer will fix it.

CLICK CLICK CLICK = bad C.V. axle! Basically the constant velocity joint is coming apart under the rubber boot.
Which one it is, will be your sense of ears. Have you looked at your C.V. boots? Check to see if they are torn open or signs of grease coming out.
IMO, I think its that.

Though it probably has quite a few miles on it. That's why I'm thinking C.V. axle.
A few more things to check: Upper & Lower balljoints, inner and outer tie rods, and hub bearings (they have been quite known to go out).
