As to your frustration, I definitely understand that you cannot diagnose a problem without looking at the transmission all apart. It's definitely a hard job to diagnose problems and I definitely appreciate all the help you've given me over the past few years.
Changing the solenoids will only cost me ~$60 + fluid, so I think I will start there. If that does not fix it, I will have to find out some way of getting another vehicle to drive and park the truck until I get a chance to pull out the tranny and send the converter off to Circle-D for inspection/cleaning.

I hope it's just a solenoid, I'll try and keep everyone post. Thanks for all the ideas on what it could be.
