Im looking at going with 390/40/17 M&H Drag Radials on 16x10 Wheels.

# Tread Width: 12.1"
# Section Width: 14.8"
# Diameter: 29.5"

Does anyone know if they will fit? Also what backspacing would I need for a
16x10?
Okay, first off like they said 17" rim for a 17" tire not 16". Moving on, the tire you want requires a 12" rim. Next, MAX backspace you could ever achieve is 8" and that isn't even really an option. 7" to 7-1/2" backspace gives you 1" to 1-1/2" of room to play without rubbing on the leafs or inner fender well. So, max tire width is gonna be approx. 12" to 14" depending if you want it to tuck or be slightly out of the wheel well. That being said, yes it will fit but it's gonna stick out a couple inches. I would look for a 12 to 12-1/2" section width tire and get 17"x 10's or 16"x 10's with a 7" backspace whatever you want...
This ain't gonna be cheap. That much backspace is gonna mean special order most likely.

NSL

16" doesn't offer as much selection as 15" ... and if they tuck I think it's gonna look a lot meaner even if it is 1 to 2" narrower. just a thought. Good luck, I must of spent 2 weeks pondering

Typo on the 16x10 wheel, meant 17x10...

Problem being I need a 29.5-30" tire to put the gearing right to go through the traps at 120-123 mph on spray. I cant find another drag radial (these are the tires that are going to be on the truck daily) Only reason im not going 15x10 is they wont fit over the rear disc brakes.... Its an 04 extended cab (408" l92/l76, 250 shot progressive)

you may want to consider the M/T Sportsman S/R but they are 18" & sweet

That would be a perfect fit with an 18x10 and 7" backspace.

Ok....I took some measurements. those 390 M&H's are going to stick out to much for my liking.

I think I am going to go 16x10 rim /w a 7.5-7" BS

M&H Has a nice 30x14.0x16 DOT Cheater Slicks.
# Tread Width: 11.0"
# Section Width: 14.0"
# Diameter: 30.0"
# Circumference: 94.0"
# Rim Size: 10.0"
# Code: MHD-10
# Compound Type: HB-11

That will give me more gear than a 28" tire with 4.11's...Truck makes power to 6700 so I think thats perfect for the traps.

(BTW) Thanks all that gave an opinion.

You will have to go with a 6.25" bs to make that work - and it's gonna stick out close to 2"
