will this 4l80e 2wd work on my 05 silverado

There is nothing wrong with the earlier 4L80E's if you can get them for a good price. Mine is a 96 model and I got it for 350 bucks in good working order. The newer models do have a handful of upgrades done to them though. As for it fitting it probably will. I believe its the top bell housing bolt hole that isn't there or at least there is some issue with the top bolt. I'm not sure about the torque converter bolt pattern but I'm assuming you'd go with an aftermarket converter anyway.
