Got my aluminum driveshaft however there is something that concerns me, aligning both driveshafts next to each other, the total lenghs of the aluminum driveshaft with the u-joint and the transfer case slip yoke is estimated 1- 1.5" longer than the stock shaft.

Ideas?

Note: in this pic i have the u-joints aligned next to each other to show how much longer one driveshaft is

Maybe, depending on if you have any suspension mods or a different trans. Easiests way is to put it in and find out. It should be about 1/2in "too short" if you push it all the way into the transmission so you have to pull it out some. Are you sure you measured correctly when you called them?

Pretty much if you can fit it in, it will work I know that sounds weird, but I was told that by Denny's, and it makes sense. You need the rear caps to clear the rear yoke, and that will give you enough room. The rear springs pivot at the front, and the shackles move back, so when your truck squats, the rear actually moves back. If the clean spot on your old yoke is from the dust boot not collapsed, it should be fine.

gadgetized, that looks like a really tight fit!

My stock driveshaft had the yoke visible a few inches, or maybe 1.5-2". I was thinking if I had the driveshaft stuck to the bootseal it might not have enough travel into the transfer case if I say hit a bump on the road? I dont offroad the truck

So that means it will only have about half an inch of play for it to move into the transfer case is that in addition to the travel that the rubber bootseal allows because that itself is about an inch, so will gadgetized's set-up work?

is your truck a 4x4? I think not but please do share your driveshaft length if you wish for a comparison at least.

No, I'm 2wd but mine measured about 64.5 iirc. Hows it look bolted up?
