I've heard the best RPM to cruise at for gas mileage in these motors is 1800-2000 RPM. Before with 3.42's, I was cruising at 1600 at 65 mph. Now it is 1900 at 65 mph and I get better mileage on the highway. I get worse around town because I can't keep my foot out of it!

Tire size should be a big factor in gear choice.

How would a Tune and 4.11's work with a daily driver?

you dont need the tune to run them i ran 4.10's with out a tune for a few months and it was easy. when you were maxing out the speedo at 100 though you'd only be going ~78 or ~88 cant remember.... i love em

wow... how much time off an 8th would 4.10's and a tune cut off?

Also where did you get your 4.10's(for how much too) and did your gas mileage change?

When I switched from 3.42's to 3.73's, I didn't have a tune for a couple of months. I didn't have any shift problems. It drove just like stock except for the speedo being wrong. It did liven acceleration up a lot and as with the guys above, I actually improved gas mileage. Later, I got a 3200 stall, but had the tune and never drove it without the tune, so I don't know about that. I do wish, however, that I had bought 4.10's and will probably do that somtime in the future.
