Interesting. How hard is replacing an output shaft?

It's not that hard to do once you do it a time or two. But you have to take all the guts out of the trans to do it. I would just clean up those splines with a file and run it.

On the trans or transfer case? transfer case is pretty easy. Do a search on here and you will find a write up on it. Cant remember who it was that did it.
The trans is a bitch. No idea how to do it

Anyone have an info on the coupler thing? I cant find anything similiar and I thought it was part of the trans anyhow...

Its just a spacer that connects the two together. Two seals and your done. i took my trans case of there once...bitch to get it back together and seal again.

You can probable just get a new coupler, new drive shaft, clean up the splines with a file, put it all back together and be just fine. That's what I would do. Just look over the out put part of the T-case for any cracks and you should be fine.

I cant find any info for an adapter...

I have manual floor-shift 4wd so I have the np231 transfer case, right?

That looks like it. What is the technical name for it or a part number or something? I've been looking for 30 minutes and cant find anything anywhere.

Edit1: Ah, finally, the part number is 15067970. Im hoping I can get one before the weekend. Looks to be only a $50 part.

Edit2: I was logging at the time and happend to have TC slip as a parameter. When it seperated my slip went to -1700rpm
