yea there pretty sweet. iv always bolted the transfercase up 1st, than stab the tranny. iv down it both ways and its sooo much easier putting the t-case on 1st

Any advice on how to get those top 2 bolts to the trans? I cant get an angle with my socket and my wrench is too long

And where does that random breather hose attach thats just hanging around?

Oh ok so its more of a drain tube thing, I thought it was suppose to attach to the tcase but I couldnt find anywhere. Makes sense.

How about those bolts?

yea, use your 9/16 gearwrench and go from the top. the hose your talkin about, IIRC, is a vent line that bolts to one the the tranny-to-engine bolts. there should have been a nut holding it on

My wrench is too long to fit between the tcase and body to turn it at all, thats the problem.

I think the multiple questions are causing a little of confusion (not your fault), but you were right with your 1st thought, it is a vent line from the transfer-case. The hose nipple is located on the front half of the case, up and above the front driveshaft.

As far as the bolts are concerned, I was able to access them with a "shorty" combination wrench.

ooo, the transfer case bolts. mmmmmm

IIRC i used a racthet with a swivel head, its very tricky.

thats why i always put the transfer case and transmission together before stabbing them in the truck

I finally got it with some creative use of socket extensions and wiggling around.

One of the trans mount bolts wont go in without a fight, im afraid im cross-threading it but the other one went it easy and this one starts fighting a few turns after it catches.
