Will the trans from a 1997 4.3 blazer fit an 05 Chevy 5.3

I have a friend that had the transmission in his truck build and added a little mit of a stall in his 1997 Chevy Blazer. I would like to know if that trans would bolt into my 2005 Chevy 1500 with a 5.3. He is trying to sell the truck and would like to remove the transmission. Thanks for the help.

I'm sure it would bolt in, but I don't think it would operate correctly. I could be wrong but I don't think the pcm would be able to communicate with it.

Nope.
The 4.3 trans has Gen-I/II SBC and BBC geometry. You need a Gen III/IV trans with the deeper bellhousing and larger input shaft.

Do not bother with this transmission. Changing the bellhousing and input shaft is expensive.
