Question Would you do your own converter install again?

I was just wondering yall's opinions on installing your own torque converter. I have a trailblazer converter sitting in my room, and I have been waiting to put it in. I now have the $$ to pay someone to put it in if I want, but I just don't know if it is worth $450 to get it done. I am taking 16 hrs of school, and I work part time, and that would be about 3 weeks worth of pay for me to have that done.

I was wondering for you people who did your own install, would you do it again, or pay someone? I have put a motor, and tranny in a z28 camaro before, so I am sure that I could do it, but I don't know if it would be worth the hassle because I have never really worked on an automatic before, and I don't have much spare time. Also remember mine is not a 2wd. Please let me know what yall think.

i would defently do it over again! i think a 2wd truck would be easieer to do then a 4wd. if you took out a trans then you should be able to do it. there is nothing to it, it just takes time.

Yes, it took me 13 hours to do this first time, second I might be able to do in 8 or 9 hours.

After watching most of it myself. I would definately pay to have someone else do it again. They had a lift and every tool imaginable and it was still a pain.
BTW I paid $250 for my install. You should shop around a bit and talk to others.

The BEST price I have found has been $350, and that is with a discount because I work at an auto parts store. Remember that mine is AWD, not a 2wd so it will take longer, and be a bit harder. I might have access to a lift, but if I did it would be something that I would have to finish in 1 day. any more opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

what part of Texas are you in? I had mine done for 200 here in Tomball (little bit north of Houston) friend of mine knew him though. But for 450 I would definetely do it myself, its a PITA but it can easily be done in one day

I have put two in my truck and would do it again however many times I need to. It really helps when you have access to a lift and the right tools though.
