what about converter,filter, sprags and other possible things wrong. if your just gonna slap some clutches in it and put it back in just do the used one. thats not going to give you a very good trans there at all. if thats your 2 options it will have to be done again sometime soon so just go with the cheapest way possible.

If it's slipping from 1st to 2nd, I doubt the clutches he thinks is the problem. Save up ~$1500 & contact FLT or Performabuilt. Get something that's going to last a while, and hold up for the long haul. Been down the "Save $$$ Road". That almost always leads you to "I Wish Avenue".

I agree, you'll end up spending twice as much in the long run...I've seen it a hundred times in the auto business. Someone's broke and forced to do things via the cheapest route, just to end up having to spend money twice or take a bus while they save up for the second repair. My truck's been off the road for a year while I've been paying off an FLT Level7 65E.
