The 05 up front brakes are a great upgrade to an 04 and down truck ive read.

I bought the larger 05 up dual piston PBR calipers, and Suburban rear dual piston calipers for my 2000, hoping to get better braking performance,

I also bought Russell SS brake lines and am going to get power slot rotors and ATE brake pads.

The only other thing us pre 05 guys can do is add hydroboost but im going to see how the better caliper/rotors work first.

And X2 on hate changing drum brakes, disc are MUCH easier.

My 15" bogarts bolted right up to my drum rears with no modification. The fronts however required some grinding. In addition to going from 12" to 13", they also changed to dual piston calipers on the front. Mines an 06.

wow older thread, forgot about it. This past summer i threw on some stock size drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic pads and am pleased with how much better they stop.
Also after taking off my 55k stock stuff i found out the insides of rotors front and back(Back was worse) were so corroded with build up that only half the pad was actually working and touching. So im sure that helped some to get that out of there..
