It actually didn't act up at all today.

The filter was just pressed in until it "Clicked" I pulled back down on it to see if it was seated and it didn't move. I had to pull HARD on the original, I thought I forgot to unbolt something but, it finally popped out. Nothing in the pan to hold the filter up but I don't think it came loose. I guess I'll have to wait until it gets more symptoms or drop the pan again when I do the headers since I'll have the exhaust off anyway. I can't see it being a solenoid connection or it would throw a code and act up all the time wouldn't it?

I don't have the part No. handy for the filter, but I when I put a deeper pan on mine, I went from the long filter to the shorter filter

There's two filters for the 4L60e. The short one is for the s10/and blazers. My TCI deep pan came with "stands" for the filter, so the stock replacement was too long.

What does the inside look like? Did you have trouble bolting it back on? Did you have to "pull" the pan back to it's location with the bolts?
