my Yukon gears whine like a ****... my sound exactly like a 747.... I absolutely hate it... I am going to buy another set and have them replaced soon..

Wow, I bought the yuks cause I heard richmonds were loud, I guess it depends on the day they were made...

i am going to check the backlash so it should be between 6 and 12

backspacing on the pinion could be off also

it also seemed like the front part of the rearend were the pinion is was pretty hot to the touch i dont know how hot its suppose to get should not be that much i would think

If the crush ring was, pinion was set to tight.. But they are new so that might be a reason, break them in correct, then see if it gets better.

i put a set of yukon gears in my truck..didnt whine at all. i think my backlash was the very minimum that it stated in the instructions..have had no problems at all..great product IMO.

My friend and I just installed some Yukon gears last night and they are as quiet as the stock gears were. My guess is youre backlash isnt set right.
