i am assuming the times in your signature are from an F-body. at first i thought you were posting times from a stock 5.3 EC. probably start out with a programmer. see how much it improves your times or SOTP. advance the timing and definitely bump up those shift points because when you install intake and exhaust, you'll benefit from it, especially at a high rpm. the talk here is go with a predator programmer. it should be in your price range

I agree a predator would be a great idea. Probably one of the best mods i have done on my truck. With headers and the other bolt ons you have your top end power will be sick, especially after raising your shift points and rev limit.

those would be good bolt ons to start with. get that air moving. now you come to the decision of which ones to get. the UPD seems to be everyones (majority) favorite. it definitely keeps the hot engine air away. i have the K&N FIPK and i like it. i think FAST4.8 has dyno #'s showing the UPD vs K&N, and the UPD had like 6 more rwhp. do a search to actually find out the stats on that. for exhaust, you have alot of options. a catback will cost a bit more than just a muffler. magnaflow probably is the best choice on that one. some are running flowmasters which have a nice rumble. flowmaster would be a cheap way to go because you can keep your stock pipes and get great sound. you'll lose some back pressure with exhaust, but it is good top end. you also have the choice of rear or side exits, or even dumping it. i like the rear or side exits and the looks of chrome tips, but again it is all a matter of preferance. headers, go with long tubes, stay away from shorties. for long tubes, ASM will run about $700+ and you will need some custom welding done so it can hook up with your cats. FLP's are another good long tube header, a bit pricey ($1200), but they come with the cats and no welding is necessary. they have a great finish though. thorley is a good header, i think they are mid-length. to get your low end back, go with eletric fans and pullies. if i could do it all over again, i would go with 6.0, Radix, ASM, predator, magnaflow.

Can't get any decent headers for under $400. I would go with UD pully, intake K&N or UPD, and exhaust cut out. Should gain around 30 rwhp. This would cost closer to $500 though.
