99 and 00 were the only years for the cast iron heads. 2001 and up should be alum.

Question

I just bought a 2000 3/4 ton 6.0 Sub with Iron heads. Any gains from going to the aluminum version ? I happen to have a set of minor ported aluminum heads laying around. Truck is used for towing.

Thanks,
'J

the aluminum heads give quite a big boost if you get the raylar ones for the 8.1 it gives a boost to 525hp on a stock 8.1 motor, but it'll cost you about 2600
