01 fly-by-wire to 05 fly-by wire?

Default 01 fly-by-wire to 05 fly-by wire?

I need to replace my 01 5.3 Tahoe's TB and have someone sellin a 05 fly-by-wire TB. Will it work on my Tahoe?

i dont think it will, the fly by wire tb has a whole different setup of the side with a riveted on dc servo and gear assembly that wont be easily converted (if at all) to the good old cable driven tb, if thats what yours is.

he has an '01 Tahoe that has dbw throttle body, is the '01 dbw tb the same or interchangeable with an '05 dbw?

thats why i said "if thats what yours is" i was referring to if his is the old cable style, because i wasnt sure what year the tahoes came out with dwb, i was just getting at converting them isnt gonna happen

No, they don't interchange. The connections are different (has two) and the tac modules are different between them and the newer ones. The DBW throttle bodies up to '02 on the trucks are a different configuration than the '03 and up. The older units have separate tps sensor, more like the cable units. I hope any of that makes sense.

Does anyone know where I can get one for a good price with the sensors? Mechanic want's $650.00 for a new one.
