Default 02 5.3l LM7 into 03 v6 silverado

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum, but not new to the mechanical scene. I think I have a large amount of information that I need to do the swap, but I still have a coupe of unanswered questions. I bought a 02 silverado 5.3 lm7, which is cable driven to use in my 03 v6 silverado which is also cable driven, I did this to avoid converting to DBW. I am just curious as to if the engine harness and fuse panel will swap right into my 03 chassis, or do I need to do some modifying with the harness? My other question is with the engine mounts/frame mounts. I have both of the ENGINE mounts that the truck was pulled from (02 silverado z71 4x4), but I was only able to obtain 1 driver side FRAME mount from an 03 2wd v8 truck. I've heard that one of the FRAME mounts of the 03 v6 will line up with the stock 5.3 ENGINE mounts, but the other will not. Do I need both of the 03 2wd v8 frame mounts or just the one? Someone please school me on this.

Thanks in advance!!!

The swap thread says you need both V8 frame mounts.

I've found out through Nelson's Performance that v8 engine mounts are needed along with a drivers side 2wd v8 frame mount. The passenger frame mount will work. The lady couldn't really elaborate on the harness though. Any thoughts?

The harness could probably be modified but you would need the pin outs from both a V6 for your year truck and probably the pin outs from an 2500 truck or possibly from a Van with a V8 engine and cable throttle body.

You could also have some one modify it for you like Speartech or PSI.

I am not up on all the wiring places and what services they offer.

I don't know if a 99-02 engine Harness will plug in and work correctly on an 03 V6 chassis. I know some of the stuff for the AC changed as well as the 02 Sensors. Even 99-00 have small differences from 2001-2002. In 03 they introduced the electronic throttle body and pedal as a standard feature on the regular 1500 series trucks.

As far as the Tune goes, I do know you can use a Van operating system for the engine portion to control a V8 with a throttle body.
