04 160 stats did not fit...

Default 04 160 stats did not fit...

I received 4 160 stats for 04 trucks today that I ordered from T-byrne PN-100228. We tried installing one in whoopass' 04 gmc and it din't work. It pretty much looks like a no brainer, so what happened? Did I get the wrong stats or did we do sumthing wrong? Tom if you could chime in I would greatly appreciate it. I will give you a call tomorrow ne ways see what we can do... if ne one else knows ne thing I'd appreciate a word of wisdom... TIA...

What does your stat look like? I have some pics in the link below. Go to post #6. Stat on the left is the NEW 04 style you just drop in, no housing replacement. The one on the right is the 99-03 style with housing attached. Their completly different. Even the Temps are different.

thanx a lot man... is there a way that sum 04 might have the old style stat in them??? i haven't tried it in my 04 SS in my buddy's 04 gmc it din't fit... I'm gonna go try my SS right now... thanx again...

Maybe the truck was made early in the production run and had a bit of run over from the previous year? Mine was right near the end of the production run and has the 04 drop in style thermostat.

Hey Tom I called you today and left you a message. The stat did fit my 04 SS and my other buddy's 04 chevy... It was the 04 GMC that used the old drop in style stat, it looks like whoopass has an oddball truck... thanx for ya'lls help... I8AHEMI stop by whenever and we'll install your stat and pulley. I'm not working this weekend so maybe we can do it... get them ready for that show in spokane I'll be taking the SS...

I installed a Lingenfelter 04 160 T-Stat this morning with no problem,,fit perfect.
