Default 05' CC Gas Mileage

I just picked up my 05 CCSB 4x4, 5.3 last night and I am curious to see what kind of mileage people are getting out of them. I have the 3.42 gear with automatic, I pulled the K&N filter from my 02' before the trade in and put it in. I have about 150 miles on it and really like it so far. I drive 43 miles one way to work and was getting 17.5 out of my 02' ECSB Z71 5.3 w/3.73's and 16 inch stock wheels/tires with K&N filter and 40 ser. Flowmaster muffler welded in the place of stock muffler.

Question 2. I will be buying a wait4me tune this week and wonder how long I should "break in" the new truck before installing it.

Question 3. What kind of gains are people seeing with w/ gas mileage tune from jesse?

Thanks for any replies, and it is great to finally be off the "Lurking" List

With mine, I get 13.5 mpg in heavy traffic to and from work. HWY trips I get about 15-16.

I have not yet seen an increase in any mod that I have done, but I drive the hell out of this thing.

Well, my 04 is a 2wd, so that will make a difference, but stock with 3.42's I was averaging about 19-21. I drive about 350 miles a week, mostly highway though. Even with all my mods listed below, if I keep cruise set at 70 mph, I have been averaging 18-19 mpg. I usually never average less that 16. And thats driving her hard and to the track.

BTW, I have the 3.73's gears.

Its amazing that 4 wheel drive will suck that much power away. Thats the price we pay.......argh.

I average right around 15 mpg in my '05 CC in the city. On the highway, I average right at 20 mpg.

Looks like I will be picking up quite a bit in the MPG department from before. I can't wait to see the difference when I get the tune done.
