Default 05 E Fan and Blinking Lights

Since I installed my E fans, I noticed that whenever the compressor cycles on, the headlights and instrument cluster lights take a blink. Since I haven't tripped the engine fan yet, I don't know what will happen when both fans are on. So, the questions are:

1. Is it an alternator issue that it is too small?

2. Is it ok for the lights to blink? IOW, is it ok but just irritating?

TIA

Most guys upgrade their alternators to the 145 amp ones. The newer trucks come with them. As far as I know, its just an annoyance. With my ls1 fans it happens, but it doesn't really bother me at all. You can barely tell. It seems some trucks get this worse than others.

Mine does that too and I have the 145 amp alt. It doesn't dim when the fans come on low, just when the a/c compressor kicks on.

I suppose I could disconnect the fans and see what happens then?

You could try that for piece of mind...it's probably just the voltage drop from the initial draw of the fans kicking on.
