Besides getting the parts together, you will need to do the wiring (power/ground wires, relays?, tap into PCM signal) and have your PCM reprogrammed to turn the fans on and off. Alternatively you could use an aftermarket fan controller and not worry about messing with the PCM.

Thanks for the info. Im going to wait a little longer and see if the 05 efans pop up on gmpartsdirect before i go with ls1 fans/flex-a-lite fans. I want efans, but I do tow and dont want to overheat. I'm assuming the stock 05 efans will outperform the others.
I can handle the power/ground wiring and I'm going to get a PCM reburn and Nelon's relay instead of an aftermarket controller.

I just put a set of LS1 fans on mine (99 RCSB GMC Sierra 5.3) about 2 weeks ago and trust me you won't have a problem with it overheating on ya. Never even came close to 210 in the south Texas heat w/ the stock 195 thermo!!! PCM was tuned by Nelson and the fans kick on I'm guessing at about 190 or so. The LS1 fans fit like they were designed to go there and the harness I got from Nelson makes it virtually a plug and play deal. Before I put in the 160 thermo the fans would just run all the time now only one comes on w/ the A/C and the other comes on if I'm in stop and go traffic or just sitting around idling. On the open road it's off w/ just the one cycling on and off w/ the A/C...Zed
