Default '05 Sierra Denali Magnaflow exhaust?

Hey all!

I'm in the market for getting a cat-back for my '05 SD. I've had a bit of trouble finding a company that makes a system for my truck. The 6.0L (LQ9), crew cab and 5'8" bed combo seems to be a bit of an oddball.

I found a system by Magnaflow marketed for the 1500HD 6.0L (LQ4) with the part # 15782. It is described as such:

"V8 6.0L Crew Cab, Short Bed 5 x 11 x 22 in. Muffler, 3 in./4 in. Tubing, 4 in. Tip; SINGLE REAR SIDE EXIT".

Will this system work for my truck??

Pic...

Many thanks for your help!

Mike

Easier to search for a catback for a Silverado SS. They used the same setup as your truck and mine.

The one above is not a bolt on for your truck. It will be too long among other things.

I would bet it slides right in... most catbacks for these truck are prety interchangeable as long as it's the same L motor. For example I have that same tailpipe from that kit with an Aero STX640 muffler and it fell right into place. Good luck.

You'll want to check the inlet size on the existing system to the muffler. I believe they are dual 2.5" not dual 3". I picked up the Magnaflow system in my signature which is designed for the SS and the Denali's. I ended up purchasing the cat pipes off of an SS so that I could run the whole thing like OEM since I was installing long tubes, but for you it would bolt right up. If you want a single rear exit exhaust this one in my sig is pretty damn nice.

Here's a link to my exhaust build https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=403537.

Why not just go to a muffler shop and get a custom setup? You will more than likely save a couple of hundred bucks and have exactly what you want.
I did a true dual magnaflow set up on my Denali and stainless tips and seems like it was around 400 or so
